Summer is here! Alongside playing video games, traveling, outdoor adventures, sports and hanging out with friends, it’s an excellent time for kids to grasp new skills and knowledge. Let’s face it, we live in a highly competitive, technology-dependent world where success is not guaranteed by only having good grades throughout high school and college. We know that the traditional teaching style is not the kids’ favorite, which is why we designed our workshop much like a game. Each kid is assigned a creative mission, which is based on their interest and offers real-world application. We provide opportunities for them to engage in activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence, while also broadening their horizon and acquiring valuable skills.

Description: We provide each student with their own Lulzbot Taz 3D printer for the duration of the course! The goal is to provide enough personal attention to each participant, limiting the groups to only five people.  The workshops are hands-on with practical application, creative thinking, problem-solving and firsthand information about everything 3D printing has to offer.

• Level 1: Introduction to the idea of 3D printing and the basics of the 3D printing workflow process. Throughout this class, students work hands-on with the guidance of experts. Together, we explore options to find, modify, and prepare 3D files to be brought to life using a 3D printer.  By the end of this two-day introductory course, students will be confident in the basics and terminology of digital fabrication and will take home their very own 3D printed creations! Just bring your laptop and enthusiasm!

  • Duration: 2 days, 6.0 hr in total
• Level 2: Introduction to the creative process of design and 3D modeling as well as advanced technical knowledge for balancing time vs. quality vs. strength vs. cost. We provide them with valuable, practical tips and tricks in all aspects of 3D printing to take it to the next level. By exploring different software tools, this course provides lessons in:
  • Main Concepts in 3D Design
  • Preparing and Optimizing 3D Models
  • Superior Slicing Techniques and Examples
  • Manipulating/Controlling the 3D printer

  With the help of this course, students will advance in the technical aspect of 3D printing software and hardware. The workshop also covers troubleshooting problems, common mistakes and how to avoid them by using different tools and solutions to resolve them.
